Recently, I had a conversation with a woman who said something that broke my heart: "I hate my period."

But here’s the thing: hating something that is inherently and innately a part of you creates a ripple effect.
It leads to behaviours that ignore, suppress, and reject your body’s natural rhythm, which often results in the very symptoms you despise.
It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Let’s get this clear: PMS isn’t "normal"—it’s common. And there’s a big difference between the two.

Every PMS symptom you experience is your body speaking to you—whether it’s telling you that your mineral levels are low, your stress is too high, your blood sugar is unbalanced, or you're simply ignoring your cyclical nature and operating more like a man.
Yes, I said it: like a man.
Our society has conditioned us to believe that to be successful, we need to follow the same rhythms men do—consistent, predictable, linear. But here’s the truth: our power lies in our cyclical nature. And when we reject it, our bodies speak up.
Your Symptoms Are Signals
Let’s reframe PMS: every symptom is a signal.
They aren’t there to harm you—they’re there to help you.
They’re telling you to recalibrate, to nurture, and to honour the incredible system that is your body. You just need to learn how to listen.
This is where your infradian rhythm comes in. While many people are familiar with the circadian rhythm (our daily sleep-wake cycle), the infradian rhythm governs the entire menstrual cycle, affecting everything from your energy levels, metabolism, brain function, and mood.
Learning to align how you eat, drink, move, work, and even connect with others according to your cycle is the game-changer you’ve been searching for.
The Infradian Rhythm: Your Built-In Blueprint
The infradian rhythm is the biological rhythm unique to those who menstruate, spanning about 28 days and influencing various systems in your body. It’s broken down into four phases: menstrual, follicular, ovulatory, and luteal. Each phase requires different nourishment, movement, and care. When you honour these phases, you unlock more energy, mental clarity, creativity, and overall well-being.
For example, during the follicular and ovulatory phases, your energy and mood naturally rise, making it a great time for high-intensity workouts, brainstorming, and social activities. But during the luteal and menstrual phases, your body needs more rest and reflection—this is your time to slow down, go inward, and replenish.
The Myth That PMS Is "Inevitable"
We’ve been conditioned to believe that PMS is inevitable—that it’s something we must put up with for the rest of our lives.
But that’s bullshit.
Unless, of course, you’ve decided to identify with it and aren’t willing to make the necessary changes. Then yes, it becomes your truth.
But it’s not mine.
I refuse to accept that. And I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be yours either. When you start to listen to your body’s signals and support it through lifestyle changes—like replenishing mineral levels, managing stress, balancing blood sugar, and honouring your cyclical nature—you’ll begin to experience the power that’s been lying dormant within you all along.

Every time you bleed, you have the opportunity to detox, renew, and connect with your deepest self. This is why it’s sacred. When you stop seeing your period as a burden and start seeing it as a gateway to creation, you unlock a deeper level of feminine power.

Your period is a superpower. It’s not something to be dreaded or suppressed. I’m not saying it’s easy. It requires unlearning what we’ve been taught for so long—that our bodies are unpredictable, troublesome, and something to be managed. But it’s time to challenge that conditioning. It’s time to step into your power and reclaim your body’s innate wisdom.
